Quick Answer
All team members are responsible for accurately recording all time worked, taking required meal and rest periods, and reviewing and authorizing their time entries regularly to ensure pay is correct and compliant with company policy and applicable law. Accurate timekeeping protects your pay, your rights, and workplace compliance.
Your Core Timekeeping Responsibilities
As a team member, you are expected to follow all timekeeping practices outlined below:
-
Real-Time Clocking: Always clock in and out at the exact time events occur. Do not estimate time or enter punches after the fact.
-
Authorized Equipment Only: Use only company-authorized time clock terminals or work computers. Mobile or personal devices may not be used for timekeeping.
-
Clock-In Timing: Do not clock in more than five (5) minutes early or remain clocked in after your duties are complete without supervisor approval.
-
Accurate Timekeeping: Accurately record your start and end times for all work, meal periods, rest breaks, and work transfers.
-
No Buddy Punching: Never clock in or out for another team member. Doing so is considered time clock fraud and may result in corrective action, up to and including termination of employment.
-
Daily Review & Authorization: Review your time entries daily using the Show Past Clock Entries feature on the time clock or by reviewing your timesheet in your Dayforce Employee portal. Authorize your time entries regularly to confirm accuracy.
-
Report Errors Promptly: Notify your supervisor immediately if you miss a punch, identify an error, or need a correction.
-
All Time Must Be Paid: Report all time worked, even if it was not pre-approved.
-
No Off-the-Clock Work: Performing any job duties before clocking in, after clocking out, or during unpaid meal breaks is strictly prohibited. If you are asked or expected to work off the clock, notify HR immediately.
