A timekeeping violation occurs when time is not recorded accurately, completely, or honestly in Dayforce. Timekeeping violations can impact pay accuracy and legal compliance and are taken seriously by LWG.
Common Timekeeping Violations
Examples of timekeeping violations include, but are not limited to:

Working off the clock
Performing any job duties before clocking in or after clocking out. -
Buddy punching
Clocking in or out for another team member, or allowing someone else to clock in or out for you. -
Falsifying time records
Intentionally altering, misrepresenting, or failing to record hours worked. -
Failing to record meal or rest breaks
Not clocking in and out for breaks as required. -
Working through unpaid meal periods
Performing work during an unpaid meal break without clocking back in. -
Repeated missed punches without reporting
Failing to promptly notify a supervisor of time entry errors. -
Using the wrong time clock buttons intentionally
Misusing Dayforce buttons to alter recorded time.
What Is Not a Violation

How Violations Are Addressed
Timekeeping violations are reviewed on a case-by-case basis, considering:

The severity of the behavior

Prior coaching or corrective action

Applicable laws and policies
Corrective action may range from coaching to corrective action, up to and including termination, depending on the circumstances.
