If you need to request time away from work for any reason (such as vacation, sick time, or personal leave), follow these easy steps in Dayforce to submit your request. Please ensure you submit your request in advance and allow time for your supervisor's approval. Further details about Paid Time Off can be found in the LWG Operations Paid Time Off policy.

Steps to Request Time Away in Dayforce

  1. Access Dayforce:

    • Open your web browser and go to the Dayforce homepage.

    • Log in using your username and password.

  2. Navigate to the Time-Off Section:

    • Once logged in, navigate to the "Time Away List" option from the main menu or your employee dashboard.

      • Main Menu > Work > Time Away List

  3. Create a Time-Off Request:

    • Click on the "Request Time Off" button to start a new request.

    • Select the type of time off you are requesting (e.g., Unpaid Time Off (UTO or Paid Time Off (PTO)).

  4. Enter Time-Off Details:

    • Choose the start date and end date for your time off.

    • If your time off request spans multiple days, ensure you select the correct number of days.

    • If necessary, add any notes explaining the reason for your request.

  5. Submit the Request:

    • Double-check your requested dates and details to ensure everything is correct.

    • Once you're confident your request is accurate, click on "Submit".

  6. Supervisor Approval:

    • Your supervisor will receive a notification of your request.

    • They will either approve or deny the request based on scheduling and company policy.

    • Once approved, you will receive confirmation via Dayforce that your request has been processed.

Important Notes:

  • Timing: Please request time off as early as possible to give your supervisor enough time to review and approve your request.

  • Approval: Time-off requests will not be considered official until they are approved by your supervisor.

  • Review Balances: Before requesting time off, ensure that you have enough available time in your bank (vacation, sick, etc.). You can check your balances under the "Time Off" section.

  • Communicate with Your Supervisor: If you have any specific scheduling needs or concerns, make sure to discuss them directly with your supervisor before submitting the request.

 

By following these steps, you can easily request time away from work and ensure your absence is recorded correctly.
