Quick Answer

Team members are required to review and authorize their timesheet regularly to confirm that all time worked, meals, breaks, and transfers are recorded accurately. Authorizing your timesheet helps ensure your pay is correct and compliant before payroll is processed.

How to Authorize Your Timesheet in Dayforce

(Team Member Daily Authorization Procedures)

Follow these steps to review and authorize your time:

  1. Log in to Dayforce

    • Access Dayforce using your Employee profile.

  2. Open Your Employee Timesheet

    • Select “Employee Timesheet” from the Main Menu.

  3. Select the Correct Pay Period

    • Use the dropdown or selector at the top of the page to confirm you are viewing the correct pay period.

  4. Review Your Time Entries Carefully

    • Confirm all clock-in and clock-out times are correct.

    • Verify meal and rest breaks are recorded properly.

    • Check for any missed punches, incorrect times, or missing entries.

  5. Authorize Your Timesheet

    • If everything is accurate, select “Authorize” to confirm your time.

  6. Report Errors Before Authorizing

    • If you notice any errors or have concerns, do not authorize yet.

    • Report the issue to your supervisor immediately so corrections can be made.

Why Timesheet Authorization Is Important

Authorizing your timesheet:

  • Confirms you were paid for all hours worked

  • Helps prevent payroll delays or corrections

  • Supports compliance with wage and hour laws

  • Protects both you and the Company in the event of audits or reviews

Failure to review or authorize your timesheet, or authorizing inaccurate time, may result in delayed corrections and could lead to corrective action if errors are not communicated timely.
