No. PTO, holiday pay, and other paid time off do not count as hours worked for overtime purposes.

 

How Overtime Is Calculated

  • Overtime is based on hours actually worked, in accordance with applicable law.

  • Paid time not worked, such as PTO or holidays, does not increase overtime eligibility.

 

Important Things to Know

  • PTO and holiday pay are still paid at the applicable rate.

  • Only time spent performing work duties counts toward applicable overtime thresholds.
