Quick Answer

Leeds West Groups offers several optional supplemental (voluntary) insurance plans that team members may elect to add to their benefits. These plans are designed to provide additional financial protection beyond medical, dental, and vision coverage.

Supplemental Insurance Options Available at LWG

Based on the current LWG Benefits Guide, supplemental insurance options may include:

  • Voluntary Life & AD&D Insurance: May provide financial protection for beneficiaries in the event of death or certain accidental injuries, subject to plan terms and carrier approval.

  • Short-Term Disability (STD) Insurance: May provide partial income replacement if you are unable to work for a short period due to a covered illness or injury.

  • Long-Term Disability (LTD) Insurance: May provide longer-term income replacement if you are unable to work for an extended period due to a covered condition.

  • Accident Insurance: May provide benefits for certain covered injuries resulting from an accident.

  • Critical Illness Insurance: May provide a lump-sum benefit if you are diagnosed with a covered serious illness.

  • Hospital Indemnity Insurance: May provide benefits related to covered hospital stays or services.

Availability, coverage levels, and eligibility may vary by plan year and individual election.

Important Things to Know

  • Participation in supplemental insurance is completely optional.

  • All supplemental benefits are employee-paid through payroll deductions.

  • Coverage terms, benefit payments, exclusions, and claim approvals are determined by the insurance carrier, not LWG.

  • LWG does not recommend or advise which plans or coverage levels are right for you.

  • Enrollment is generally available during New Hire Enrollment or Annual Open Enrollment, unless you experience a qualifying life event.

Helpful Tip

Always review the official plan documents, summaries of benefits, and carrier materials during enrollment to understand coverage details, limits, exclusions, and claim requirements before making elections.
